KARATE KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Kyokushin Karate provides an exciting and unique way to celebrate your child’s birthday or special event! Through basic techniques, application, demonstration and fun filled games, a Karate Birthday Party offers an excellent introduction to the mysterious excitement of this ancient Japanese martial art and is thrilling for kids age 5 and up.

Our 5,000 square foot fully padded, equipped and air conditioned space is yours for two full hours! (90 mins party, plus 15 minutes load-in and out) Parties can be scheduled Saturdays after 3pm, Sundays after 1pm and Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 2pm and 5pm. Special timeframes can be accommodated based on availability.

Once your guests have arrived, the partygoers are ushered into the “Dojo” training hall, where our team of nurturing and skilled International Karate Organization-licensed Instructors conduct a 30-40 minute sample karate class tailored to the children’s specific age group. In all sessions the importance of self-discipline and respect for themselves and others is stressed.

To start off, we gather together and kneel down for a brief period of traditional Japanese “Mokuso” meditation followed by running and jumping exercises to warm up the body. Minutes later we reassemble for simple stretches to prepare for the basics of karate practice and then move immediately into karate punches, kicks and blocks.

Once the fundamentals are familiarized, the kids are divided into smaller groups for application of these techniques opposite live (fully padded) opponents. This gives them an idea of their own strength and the power behind their execution.

The second half of the session is reserved for group games and other unique activities that promote camaraderie and teamwork and give the kids a sense of friendly competition. Then we regroup for an exciting live demonstration of advanced karate skills illustrating self-defense techniques and real wooden board breaking. The kids are encouraged to try breaking too with REAL wooden boards and/or sheets of paper that shows the effectiveness of some of the skills they’ve just learned.

The class closes with another brief mediation period and the kids are released for refreshments.

*While the class is in session, we ask that non-participants refrain from loud chatting, eating and drinking as it disturbs the children’s focus on the physical activities at hand.

Pizza and juice are served for the kids on a long buffet table and then brought back to a Japanese-style low seated area for enjoyment. Parents are welcome to decorate the buffet area simply and are encouraged to provide healthy light fare and beverages (no alcohol!) in addition for the guests and their guardians to enjoy. Birthday cake, provided by parents, is usually presented towards the end of the party. If time allows, we organize additional activities till closing. Due to limited time, the opening of presents is not usually recommended, however, timing can be adjusted to accommodate.

Each child is given a small parting gift and the Birthday child is presented with a complete Karate Uniform to use at the party that is then theirs to keep. Discount coupons on future enrollment are offered to all partygoers and Kyokushin Karate can easily arrange additional catering and decorations for an additional fee.

General Policy: (please see contract for complete details)

• All arrangements including final tally of attending children must be completed 24 hours prior to party date. Additional children above final count accepted at the door at $35pp. No Refunds / No Credit for no shows or late arrivals.
• Party Cancellations must be made a minimum of 24hrs in advance, Deposit is non-refundable.
• Cancellations may be re-booked subject to availability and an additional 20%.
• Party Giver must be present for length of Party and assume personal responsibility for all guests.
• Non-participating guests are asked to observe unobtrusively during the class portion of the party.
• For everyone’s safety, the use of our weight training & cardio equipment area is not permitted. *Inappropriate behavior and misuse of facilities will not be tolerated.
• No Smoking on the premises. No Shoes in Party Room “Dojo”. No alcoholic beverages please.
• Kyokushin Karate is not responsible for personal belongings.
• Premises must be vacated by time specified. Late charges will apply.
